a boy playing with a yo-yo; a dog...and there are lots around; a buddhist monk admiring balloons at a festival; a group of kids who gathered for a photo and then huddled around me to see their image on the small display. i took a series of shots with them as subject matter and the boy on the far right kept his eyes closed the entire time! the next photo is of an older woman on a rooftop watching what's happening below. and finally, a man who asked to have his photo taken and only wanted, in return, to see it on the display. i think i got the better end of the deal...he was lovely and his face shows it. i love these images and hope you enjoy them. i have more to post in the future! love, j

sorry annie and paul...i redid the post and lost your comments. i have a digital canon eos xti...well, christy does from her parents for christmas. we are using my lenses from my 35 mm canon. i love it and it takes really nice photos! i'm also working on my composition and lighting, though...but i couldn't ask for better subject matter! and yes, paul, they do notice the 5'10" blonde walking around. i don't think they know what to do with me since i'm taller than most of the nepali people! thanks for your comments! love, j

Your photos are very professional and they are a nice beginning for a photo journal of your experiences there.
The adults have some kind of cotton cap on their heads that have brighter colors, Is there some significance to that cap? Or is it just something they wear there for comfort? I LOVE the picture of the man, I think we might have that one reproduced and hang it in Lux's room, it will be really cool for him to see, that warm smiling man. Just gorgeous.
