yesterday, as i was riding on the back of a nepali guy's (christy's colleague) motorcycle without a helmet, mid day heat, on the ring road which is total air pollution, i looked up and saw the mountains and got a little nostalgic. nepal is a tough country with tons of problems and very little hope for the foreseeable future, but certain aspects i am going to miss. it may take me a while to figure out what those are, but i have always enjoyed being a minority and living simply, and the culture here and spirituality can't be beat!
so, the movers continue packing my not so simple seeming stuff and i have a sense of contentment knowing it will be out of our hands in a couple of hours. whether it will arrive back in our hands in santa fe, where we're having it shipped, is a completely different question!!
i will be in touch on skype, email and will even try to blog as i can. the first couple weeks we will be in mongolia and i doubt there are too many internet connections out on the steppe. but, know we will be fine and i will be happy to see the reindeer herders coming down from russia for the summer!
take care and drop me a note when you can and leave comments so i will be encouraged to blog! lots of love; hope you're all having a great summer! j
